Mr. Tucker has been a Program Manager for GEAR
UP since it began 6 years ago. He is from an immigrant
background and emigrated from Sierra Leone. In his spare time,
he enjoys biking and soccer. Mr. Tucker received his Bachelors
Degree from Westchester College, and his Masters at Southern New
Hampshire College. He is currently pursuing his Doctorate at
UMass Boston's Graduate College of Education.

Mr. Barry has served as a GEAR UP college
awareness coordinator for 4 years. He developed "Learn and
Earn", helping middle school students understand the link
between the educational level, quality of life, careers, and the
different they can make it in life. In his spare time, Mr. Barry
enjoys mountain biking and playing video games. Mr. Barry
received his Bachelors and Masters Degree from UMass Lowell.

Mrs. Porter oversees the work of 11
tutors and 10 mentors who provide before/after school tutoring
to GEAR UP students. Mrs. Porter is originally from Brazil and
has been in the United States for 18 years. She received her Bachelors
Degree from the University of Southern California, and her
Masters from UMass Lowell.

Mrs. Daley has worked for GEAR UP
Lowell for over two years. She originally started as the Parent
Outreach Coordinator, but has recently moved to the College and
Career Awareness piece of GEAR UP. In her
spare time she enjoys bike riding and spending time outdoors
with her husband and son Cameron. Mrs. Daley is a graduate of
Lowell High School and received her Bachelors Degree from UMass
Lowell.

Ms. Butler is the newest member of
GEAR UP. She focuses on parent professional development and
integration into the community, as well as parent/student campus
visits, parent/student education field trips, and parent/student
workshops. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, reading and
hiking. Ms. Butler received her Bachelors Degree from
Connecticut College.
